Just gave this verbal presentation at my old alumni, and woopie, I won the contest. My take away….I think people are finally understanding what is fundamentally wrong in real estate, and what is needed to fix it. Here is my 5 minute pitch at MBA grad school:
According to Warren Buffet – Risk comes from not knowing what you are doing. Today, no home buyer, investor, OR Realtor, has access to CURRENT LOCAL demographic OR economic data. Critical data that affects land prices, and Risk.
I have purchased over 40 properties, an MBA from SFSU in RE & entrepreneurship. Devoted years’ to data aggregation, data analytics, & software development. Invested over $500K of my own cash, to solve a fundamental problem in RE.
RE is the largest asset class in the US, $40TR. According to CB Insights, the industry spent over $1.7B last year, just on data. But still, RISK remains.
The problem – Everyone knows its location location location. But no one in the industry has current location data, OR growth data. Critical local data that changes every month. Zillow doesn’t have it, nor do Realtors.
